What is Mind Body Nutrition?

Mind Body Nutrition is an exciting and contemporary field that enhances the practice of clinical nutrition by exploring how our thoughts, emotions, and beliefs impact our nutritional metabolism and overall health. Originated by Marc David, the Founder of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, it delves beyond conventional nutrition by examining the intricate connections between the brain, body, and behavior. Essentially, what we eat is only half of the nutritional story; the other half lies in understanding who we are as eaters. Mind Body Nutrition reveals how factors like stress physiology, relaxation techniques, breathing, mindfulness, pleasure, and meal timing significantly influence digestion and calorie burning. It offers practical and effective strategies for addressing common eating challenges and contemporary health issues.

The Coaching I offer

The coaching I provide follows an innovative and dynamic approach developed by the Institute for the Psychology of Eating. It effectively addresses concerns such as weight management, binge eating, overeating, body image issues, and various nutritional health matters. As a trained coach, my approach is nurturing and empowering. I don't view your struggles with eating as a reflection of any inadequacy, but rather as an opportunity to delve deeper into the personal aspects of life that influence our relationship with food, weight, and health. Often, our eating habits are intertwined with factors like work, finances, relationships, family dynamics, stress, and more. By focusing on the areas most relevant to you, achieving success becomes more attainable. As a coach, I aim to support you with strategies and nutritional principles that are nurturing, achievable, sustainable, and yield tangible results.

About my training:

I completed my training at the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, the foremost institution in Nutritional Psychology, where I obtained my coaching certification. Through their renowned program, I gained access to cutting-edge tools and methodologies that enable me to address a wide range of issues including weight management, body image concerns, overeating, binge eating, as well as various nutrition-related health challenges such as digestion, fatigue, mood, and immunity. My approach integrates the innovative fields of Dynamic Eating Psychology and Mind Body Nutrition. Drawing from this training, I utilise a blend of practical coaching techniques, evidence-based psychology, clinical nutrition knowledge, body-centered practices, mind-body science, and a compassionate outlook towards food and health challenges.

How does my approach differ?

For too long, society has bombarded us with negative messages about food, weight, and dieting, leaving many feeling inadequate or confused. The majority of nutritional advice often contradicts itself, further adding to the confusion. In my practice, I steer away from rigid rules and instead focus on what is right for your individual body and lifestyle. By removing the constraints of "shoulds and shouldn'ts," we embark on a journey of exploration and growth when it comes to food and health. Rather than viewing challenges as obstacles, we see them as opportunities for personal development. Through my training in the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, I've learned to guide clients towards their goals not through punitive measures, but by fostering nourishing strategies.

What is Dynamic Eating Psychology?

Dynamic Eating Psychology is an enlightening new field pioneered by Marc David, the Founder of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating. It offers a positive, empowering, and transformative approach suitable for anyone with a relationship with food. Each individual has a unique and evolving connection with food, which this approach recognises as paramount. Instead of viewing eating struggles as signs of brokenness, Dynamic Eating Psychology sees them as opportunities for growth and evolution. Unlike traditional eating psychology, which often focuses solely on clinical disorders, Dynamic Eating Psychology applies to everyone. It acknowledges that our relationship with food holds valuable lessons and that our eating, weight, and health challenges are intertwined with various aspects of our lives such as relationships, work, sexuality, and the pursuit of fulfilment.
